Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My second graders are creative, risk takers full of questions. They love love learning through the use of technology, hands- on activities and real world scenarios. They've developed a growth mindset that transcends many of the daily challenges they face.
Our school mission is to deliver excellence in education for the entire school community, advancing the ability to make informed decisions and think critically.
Each child in my classroom abides by our mission statement. They come each day ready to learn in a positive environment that praises their growth and effort. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies such as flexible seating, incorporation of technology and movement. My students are a truly remarkable group of life long learners ready and excited to learn every day!
My Project
My 20 students are young explorers ready to learn how to code. They've been introduced to the basics of coding through district wide programs but do not have the tools to practice on a daily basis in the classroom.
With students now having discovered their interest in coding, I want to keep that interest alive and going in my classroom.
With the help of materials such as the WeDo 2.0 Core set and the Code & Go Robot Mouse STEM Activity Set all of my students from beginner to advance have an opportunity to continue their learning in STEM fields.
