Creative Thinkers Need Book Building Materials to Spark Deep Thinking!
My students need materials for to keep themselves and their writing organized. Students need index cards and storage box for smaller projects, white out for minor mistakes, and a two hole punch to make books.
My students come from a school and area of high poverty. Despite this, I know they can achieve anything they set their minds to. I have introduced them to new ways of thinking, new ways to express themselves and am trying desperately to use all of my extra money to get materials that my students need. I feel that students are our future and without the right teachers and materials, students will not be able to achieve all they can achieve. My students come into school each day with a passion to learn. They listen to me talk all day and still have questions. Their minds are sucking up the knowledge that I am teaching them and I know when a parent comes in or calls me talking about something from a lecture, that I have done my job. I love that my students go home and say, "Do you know what I learned today?" My students have the power to create their own futures, they just need a little help in getting there and the right materials.
My Project
Have you ever wanted to create a masterpiece and lacked the appropriate tools and supplies to do it? My students need basic supplies like index cards, hole punches, folders, white out for minor mistakes, and desk organizers to keep writing objects organized to be creative and stretch their creative minds. My students love art and want to express themselves, but sometimes lose their materials and have to restart.
My students come from a school and area of high poverty where more than 70% of the students are on free or reduced hot lunch.
They have been told over and over again that what they do doesn't matter. I know they can achieve anything they set their minds to. My students are creative and love expressing themselves through drawing, coloring, making collages, and writing stories. I have introduced them to new ways of thinking, new ways to express themselves and am trying desperately to use all of my extra money to get materials that my students need. I feel that students are our future and without the right materials, students will not be able to achieve all they can. My students come into school each day with a passion to learn. They listen to me talk all day and still have questions. Their minds are sucking up the knowledge that I am teaching them. I love that my students go home and say,
Students love to draw, they love to write & by combining those two passions & creating books, students will see how much potential they have to become true authors.
Students will get a lot out of these materials & a lot of doors can open for their future! The students just have to have the MUCH NEEDED materials to do the job.
