Creative Supplies to Bring Our Student Performances to Life!
My students need supplies for our theatrical classroom. The wardrobe closet will hold our costumes and face paint will enhance stage makeup. The paints and supplies will be used for the creation of set backdrops and props.
Our middle school's theater students bring creativity and enthusiasm to our building environment. Their positive attitude, inclusiveness to others and motivation to reach out to others makes a difference daily at our school. We are leading the way in our district to offer more elective choices for students in the way of communication and performing arts. It has been such a hit that we developed a sixth grade elective course that introduces acting/theater concepts and strengthens public speaking in our students.
Our theater program needs new supplies for backdrops, costumes, and classroom storage.
These elective classes are filled with interaction and collaborative scenarios that require different materials than the typical paper and pencil.
My Project
When starting a new elective program, materials and supplies are needed to support our students. The wardrobe closet will be extremely useful to store costumes in the classroom. In addition, our artistic students will use the painting supplies to create one of a kind backdrops, props, and projects. Each performance is unique and each character played is important. These supplies will help promote the arts and showcase the creativity of our middle school's students.
In the arts and public speaking, allowing students to take on the role of others through acting and the use of makeup and costumes is essential.
With our education system focused on academics, the arts are often left to find creative ways to earn funding.
