My students need art materials to use during mandated structured and unstructured play time so they have the ability to freely create! My students need watercolor paint and brushes, aprons, mosaic tiles, feathers, and wiggly eyes.
My students are fortunate to attend a school district that embraces the "whole child." We focus on the all aspects of a "P.E.A.S. education" - physical, emotional, academic and social. Our amazing school community emphasizes the need for recess, structured/unstructured play, mindfulness and hands-on experiences.
My students are creative, inquisitive and extremely eager to learn.
They each learn differently, but one thing they all have in common is they LOVE to create. At recess and unstructured play time, they can be seen designing structures out of cardboard, building "houses" out of Legos, making instruments with paper towel rolls and drawing pictures. However, our resources and supplies are limited.
If this project is funded, my students will be given the artistic materials they need to continue to utilize their imagination while playing with their peers during structured or unstructured play time. My students need watercolor paint and brushes, aprons, mosaic tiles, feathers, and wiggly eyes. As an educator, I believe fostering natural talent is important. When my students have the ability to create freely, their possibilities are endless. These materials will be available for all students to access as they wish. Their work will be proudly displayed around the classroom for students, colleagues and parents to see.
When a student's greatest talent meets their strongest passion, success is created.
My goal as a teacher is consistently ensure students are always exploring their interests. These materials will provide students with that opportunity! Play can be considered the highest form of learning. While playing, students learn to use their imagination, work collaboratively and become independent problem solvers. These are all skills students need to be successful in the work force one day!
