Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a first grade teacher at an inner city school. I am privileged to work with 50 amazing children who are eager to learn and use any learning tools they are given. My students have a tremendous amount of learning to do this upcoming year, and most of it happens from repetition and practice.
They like to read, participate and ask questions!
Working as an elementary teacher in a low-income and high poverty inner city district, is challenging itself. My students face several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Whichever challenge they meet, I strive to provide my students with the creative and meaningful learning experience they deserve!
My Project
New supplies of crayons will help students concentrate on learning and not on who still has a black crayon to borrow.
It will also send them the message that they are important and deserve to have nice materials for their important first grade work!
My students have the enormous task of learning to read and write in the coming year. I ordered enough crayons to finish out this year and should last me most of next year!
