My Students

This project is for my computer science course and for 2 sections of social studies. I teach 7th and 8th-grade students in a K-8 school. This project is primarily for my computer science class.

I teach 2 sections of social studies to highly gifted students.

Both groups of students would have access to these materials. This project will impact about 90 students.

My students also work with kids in the younger grades, so using the materials, they could teach some of the younger students on our campus.

My Project

The use of the 3D printer will be something that is used on a daily basis. It will be a vital part of the learning in my computer science and gifted classes. Using the 3D printer, students will be able to create models, game pieces, and other materials to enhance their ability to demonstrate their learning. The 3D printer allows me the opportunity to provide another method to show their understanding. Students in my class are 1 to 1, so they will be able to create their projects on their Chromebooks and then print them to the printer. Students will also be able to practice planning projects out so they are not wasting filament overworking the printer. The students are constantly looking for new ways to show what they have learned and to it make it relevant to what they are doing.
