This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I serve primarily minority children in a Title 1 inner-city school, Pittsburgh Conroy. My students are of mixed ages, from 3-5 years old. We are a Head Start funded classroom and strive to prepare our students for Kindergarten and close the achievement gap.
Our children are experiencing school for the first time, and are extremely energetic, curious, and enthusiastic!
Our goal, at Pittsburgh Conroy Early Childhood Center, is to encourage creativity, inquiry, and to instill a lifelong love for learning!
My Project
We will use this in our classroom for free Play. This Dollhouse will enhance our Dramatic Play Area by allowing the children to act out and play family with one another. They will love furnishing the home and the Dollhouse will reinforce language and sorting skills while choosing which pieces belong in which room, etc. This Dollhouse will also encourage creative play and cooperation amongst our students, with social interaction being one of the most valuable and important aspects of Pre-K! Thank you so very much for contributing to our classroom!
