"The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination." ~Albert Einstein. I would love to give my students the opportunity to foster their imagination in a fun and hands-on way. The students in my class have huge hearts and the desire to learn.
I am a 6th grade teacher to 60 eager and hard working students.
The poverty level is high in the neighborhood where I teach and a large percentage of the children qualify for free lunch. In addition, the district where I teach is facing a major budget crisis. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.
My Project
The Cricut machine we have in our classroom has helped make writing, reading, and math fun! We have been able to create games using it. We have also used it to cut out shapes, letters, and pictures for project throughout the year! We have used it to decorate our classroom by personalizing items.
Unfortunately, we are running low on the vinyl and transfer tape we use to create items for projects and games in the classroom.
The students really like to see things they have created displayed in the classroom and hallway. It is great to see smiles on their face when they are searching for their name posted on the classroom door at the beginning of each month. By replenishing the supplies for the Cricut machine, the students will be able to continue to use their imagination and creativity!
