My Students

My first graders love learning! They are creative, thoughtful and full of wonder! They definitely keep me on my toes and want to be challenged. They absolutely love hands-on challenges that allow them to find solutions. I incorporate a variety of learning strategies such as group work, flexible seating options, and learning options to ensure that each of my student's needs is met.

They are a remarkable group!

While they are learning every day, I am learning so much about each of them, myself and my teaching daily. I look forward to every day to see where it takes us.

My Project

My students love to build! They are constantly using their creativity with LEGOs, blocks, Play-Doh, MagnaTiles, and marble mazes. I would love to expand their knowledge through STEM. I want to introduce my first graders to the world of coding with Ozobot. Coding will give my students the opportunity to understand and be able to work with and understand the technology around them. Learning to code will prepare them for the future and will help them with communication, creativity, math, writing, and confidence. Giving my students the tools needed to create will allow them to use parts of their brains that they may not normally use on a daily basis. Providing this amazing opportunity will also provide collaboration and problem solving as well as critical thinking skills.
