This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach in a low socioeconomic area in rural Southwest Mississippi. The students that I teach come from disadvantage families with low incomes. All of my students receive free lunch at school.

Most of my students come from single parent homes.

It is a struggle for some parents because of employment. Despite the many challenges that my students face, they come to school every day eager to learn.

Most of the students in my class have little or no school supplies. My students want what every American child wants and that is a good public education. I have the best students in the world and I love them all dearly.

My Project

The purpose of this project is to use the requested Cricut Air Explore 2 cutting machine to create hands-on center games and activities. These activities will incorporate the five components of Reading (Comprehension, Vocabulary, Writing, Phonics, and Fluency. It will make their work more appealing and exciting. It will also enhance their quest for learning because it is something that they created and can be proud of their creation. The Cricut will also let me differentiate hands-on materials to meet the individual learning needs of all my students.

My students are the best!

They are very creative and love to learn new things. It is my desire as a teacher to inspire them to always do their best. I want to introduce them to new and innovated ways to make learning fun. I believe that behind every successful teacher there are successful learners.
