Our class is comprised of 17 energetic and curious 3-5 year olds. Several different cultures and family structures are represented. All of our students speak English, but several also speak another language at home. We serve low socioeconomic families by providing early learning activities, breakfast, lunch, and snacks for the children. Additionally, we provide health information and other supports for the families.
We consider everyone as part of our school family!
Parents/guardians join us once a week for Family engagement activities that connect to our learning objectives. Our parents also volunteer in our classroom and are an integral part of our school.
My Project
We have a limited budget for art supplies this year. The arts and crafts items we are asking for such as paints, scissors, glue, tape, and craft noodles will enhance our dwindling supply of materials. My students are also in need of more paper, watercolors, and a new tabletop easel for all of our art projects.
Our students come to us with very limited experiences in the arts.
Our families do not have the resources to provide art activities for the children at home, and they are so appreciative of any experiences we have in school. Having a wide variety of materials available will allow them to explore, imagine and create. Additionally, it will help to develop necessary fine motor skills. Art helps us grow!
