This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students have a zest for learning! We have had great times exchanging ideas about sports, pop culture, and school. They absorb information really quickly and are eager to use art to express themselves.
My students are exceptionally creative!
They easily integrate ideas to create outstanding art. They love creating designs that include their quirks, hobbies, loved ones, and their personal favorites. It's fascinating to see how each individual has their own style with their art.
My Project
Our proposed button maker will bring art outside of the classroom walls. Our students will create original art on their buttons. They will literally wear their art. They will have the opportunity to share their art with other teachers, students, their families, and their communities.
These little buttons may be an entrepreneurial opportunity.
They will teach students applicable skills about graphic design, marketing, and branding. If they choose to sell their buttons, this button maker will be the first taste of real world lessons.
Students may also use these buttons for service learning opportunities. Some may choose to create the buttons for others - whether it be boosting morale or for a social campaign.
