This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students have very limited art supplies at home. Through my enrichment program after school, they have enjoyed lots of arts and crafts. My school can only provide so much. When they get to do a craft or even just coloring, they are amazed with having the access to markers, scissors, paper, even glue. They feel very free and confident and cared for to be able to sit with me and have access to these materials and it helps them draw freely and socialize more with their peers. They leave very happy and look forward to the next project. I am excited to have these materials for them. I should mention that they also love sports. I have a volleyball but no net. My goal is to slowly build out sports equipment for recess and after school, starting with this badminton set. Help me help them feel like they can be a Picasso and feel like an athlete.
