This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are amazing, marvelous, and challenging on many levels. Our new reality of virtual learning comes with its own set of advantages and challenges and my sholars are rising to the challenge.
It is a journey to discover how best to serve every single one of my students and get them ready for college and for life, and I am enjoying the ride.
Our school is a Title I school in Atlanta where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of our students are facing many socioeconomic challenges that hinder their academic success. As I observe them via the lens of our Zoom sessions, enthused in a lesson, I regain my conviction that a future is possible and achievable for all my students.
My Project
We are pleading with you, asking for material to customize tshirts and various apparel to stock our classroom store. We are getting creative in finding engaging ways to practice what we are learning about financial literacy.
The vinyl sheets and cardstock paper will allow us to make various creations that students can spend their "paycheck" money buying; this will help them learn more about budgeting and spending.
Students will have to do a market study to find out what designs will bring in the most money and make it available on the market. This project will allow them to be creative while at the same time learn more about the market, planning, budgeting, and spending.
