I teach seventh and eighth-grade students in a high-poverty area. Over seventy percent of our students receive free or reduced-price lunches. We are also designated as a Title I school. Even in the face of overwhelming poverty, my students work very hard.
My gifted students need a more in-depth curriculum than typical students.
They are very inquisitive and catch on quickly. My job is to challenge them, and I love doing just that. These students are excellent critical thinkers and problem solvers
My Project
In our current climate, having the ability to express yourself is more important than ever. My students are hands-on learners and learn best while creating and designing. The critical thinking and troubleshooting skills involved in the creation and design process are life skills that can't be taught with a textbook.
My students need Cricut supplies to enhance the learning environment for themselves and all students at our school.
These materials will allow my students to create inspirational cards, stickers, and T-shirt iron-ons to encourage all students during this difficult time. Students are more attentive when they are in a welcoming environment.
We can also use the materials in our community service projects. The cards we create for community food baskets can be even more creative and inspiring. It is important to encourage students to care for one another and their community.
