Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students are bubbling with creativity and curiosity! They love art projects, field trips, and hands-on activities where they get to work together.
Our students come from a wide range of ethnic and economic backgrounds.
But at our school, they know "We Are One." We all do our best to follow the Golden Rule, "Treat others how you would like to be treated." I see students putting this into practice every day -- whether they are at breakfast, in the bus line, or in the classroom.
My Project
My students love using photographs of themselves to create projects and mementos. Teachers often use digital cameras on field trips to take pictures of what the students are learning about, for use in the classroom after the trip. Our school's digital cameras are a valued resource, but with one recently broken, our supply will not meet the demand.
A digital camera will help us preserve special memories for students.
In order to print these pictures (and also to print engaging classroom materials and color-coded test reports) we need ink for our shared color printer. No other funding is available to purchase the ink, so I am turning to the community to help make our school a little more colorful!
