How often do you learn something new? In Bay City, Michigan, there is a group of future young men and women who teach me something new every day. I am thankful to teach first grade at a diverse charter school where the needs of our kids are put first. My group of students comes from all walks of life to seek out challenges and yearn for deeper understanding in everything we do. They are the reason I went into the teaching profession
First grade is an extremely important step on a child's path to academic and social success.
My job as an educator means that much more teaching these growing minds. I love my job and put a lot of work into what I do. I want to ensure I send my first graders off as creative problem solvers and responsible citizens who will continue to grow into loved and successful young adults.
My Project
First graders need the opportunity to create arts and crafts projects. These projects help students work on listening skills, fine motor skills, and creative thinking. These projects are also mostly based on things we are learning in our curriculum.
Please help me provide my students with supplies to make creative arts and crafts projects.
Repetitive construction paper only crafts can lose their appeal. Pom poms, sequins, pipe cleaners, and water colors adds excitement and variety to my artists' creations. These items will help me get my students engaged in skill development!
