My students are preschoolers with educational disabilities. My students have moderate learning delays in more than one area of development. Many of my students receive related services such as speech/language, occupational, and/or physical therapy. The premise of the program is that early intervention is effective in remediating learning deficits and/or identifying strategies to offset the impact of educational disabilities on young children.
Thank you for supporting my classroom! Every day I strive to make my instruction interesting, engaging, and fun for my students. Children in my class are very young so it is crucial for me to instill a love of learning. I believe that young children need to be exposed to a variety of math activities in order to learn new concepts. During distance learning, I use my document camera to display various objects on the screen, and I model how to sort various objects based on their shape. Students in preschool learn about how many sides a shape has and they work on naming different shapes based on their attributes. Hence, these materials will make a difference in their learning because they will be required to sort the shapes based on the attributes. This is an essential skill that students will need in kindergarten and I believe these materials will make these make concepts easier to learn.
