My Students

I'm the library media specialist at a small rural school located in Northwest Arkansas. I consider all of the students in grades K-12 as my kids. I love that my students WANT to learn! They're creative, intelligent, and inquisitive! My students crave the opportunity to invent and explore new things. With that being said, over half of my students come from low-income backgrounds and only get their basic needs met. Therefore, some of these kids will never get exposure to this type of learning because they lack these resources and technology at home.

I feel very fortunate to work with such a wonderful group of students!

I especially love getting a new group of kindergartners each year. The look on their little faces is just priceless! They are so excited to be at school and to learn so many new things!

It is magical when I see the light bulb moment when my students learn something new or when they really get what I am teaching! Even though several of my students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds, they all have the desire and want to learn! My students are truly the best!

My Project

These materials will make a difference in my students' learning by empowering the students creativity! This year our school has implemented extension time to challenge our higher level students. We have spent lots of time planning projects to engage our students and push them to the next level.

These supplies will help our dreams come a reality!

Our extension leaders challenge our students by immersing the students in projects such as creating dioramas. Our students are excited and engaged in their extension projects! They have heard several of the ideas we have planned for them and can't wait to get started on their next project!
