We are a small-town school with big ideas. This is the first year at this school, but not my first teaching media and technology. Each student will be learning how the technology works and how to use technology appropriately. They learn through creation and exploration following ISTE standards.
Students love exploring their curiosity through inquiry.
Teaching through inquiry gives our students life long skills, which translate into real-world applications. Each student has potential and I strive to push them every day.
My Project
My media/technology students learn using the ISTE standards. This is the first year my students have ever had a hands on learning course. By donating to our school, you are providing these students more than just materials, you are providing skills these students will continue to use for life!
Problem solving, critical thinking, collaboration, and troubleshooting are all skills that are taught and continue to grow.
Imagine how excited a student gets when they can figure something out on their own, rather than being told what to do.
Arduino kits will allow my students to advancing their coding, problem solving, and creativity skills. The students will build projects they choose using the self paced Arduino kits to build and troubleshoot difference challenges. After they have the basic idea of how to create, they will advance to coding their projects. Remember those Christmas lights programs to music? Using these kits is the foundational skill to coding lights to music! Many questions we use as adults can easily translate into questions students can use such as, "What caused my project not to work properly?", "How can I improve my project to ensure it will be more efficient?", "What happens if I change this?", etc...
