Creative Clay Classroom

Help me give my students the items needed for an enriched clay experience. Glazes will bring color to their works and texture rollers and plates will provide more sophisticated finished works of art!

My Project

All students, kindergarten through fourth grade, will begin a clay unit in our art classroom! From pinch pot monsters to coil pottery, my students will learn hand building techniques and understand ceramic processes to make 3D works of art! Artist inspiration such as Claes Oldenburg, Claude Monet, Diane Lublinski, James DeRosso, and Christina Kapono will be used in our lessons as we explore famous artist from old masters to contemporary female artists. Techniques for this unit include: coiling, slip and score methods, slab design, vessel creation and glazing techniques.
