My Students
My students are a group of awesome lifelong learners. They come to school ready and eager to learn everyday! The more you read the more you succeed. I want to create a home away from home atmosphere in our classroom. Why? "Because we are family....Drop Everything And Read." My students come to class, go straight to their book bins and begin reading. My students have grown so much this year. I am so proud of my kiddies!
My Project
During Guided Reading my students use the Daily 5 program. My students complete Word Work Activities, Work on Writing Activities, and Listen to Reading. Currently, we only have two desktop computers. We are requesting a Chromebook that will give us another opportunity to Listen to Reading, maybe even create our own stories. Listening to Reading can be just as valuable as reading an actual book. They love to practice several reading strategies like, summarizing, clarifying and making connections. I often hear my students talking about a story they’ve heard during their listening to reading time. We would LOVE to have this Chromebook! We love reading!
