My pre-kindergarten students are full of wonder and energy! They come to school everyday eager and excited to learn new things and are in need of active, engaging activities to foster their love of learning. Many of them have never held a pencil or pair of scissors and love working with art supplies and toys to discover the world around them. These children are from low socioeconomic backgrounds and many don't get the opportunity to practice their creativity outside of school.
My Project
Art supplies like paint, construction paper and gemstones are used daily to encourage active involvement in lessons. Many varied art supplies are needed to enhance fine motor development, eye-hand coordination, and to help develop reading and math concepts.
With young children, hands-on learning is a must in order to develop understanding and these materials are in constant need.
These supplies will be utilized by over 50 children during this school year, allowing our little ones a magnitude of learning experiences.
