I have a class of 18 second graders this year. Each child is creative, energetic, and loves to explore new things. Each child is unique and brings different experiences to the classroom. We are all teachers, and are all learners.
These young minds thrive on opportunities to collaborate, share with one another, and exercise skills in patience.
My students especially enjoy designing and building things, while figuring out their world around them. All challenges are accepted, and through collaboration, solutions are made.
My Project
With these materials, my students will have the supplies they need to craft many masterpieces. While using their creativity, students will enhance skills in listening, cooperating, sharing, problem solving. All students will be successful, because there is no wrong way to create things. In addition, they will be able to take their treasures home as keepsakes from second grade.
Using play dough, crafting sticks, and/or beads, as well as other materials, students will be able to express themselves and exercise their creativity.
Through these open ended opportunities, those who struggle with reading or writing will have a chance to be successful and showcase their learning in non-traditional ways. Success for all!
