This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am a teacher of children with special needs. My classroom is a busy place where my kinders and fourth graders are eager to learn and grow! Our class motto this year is " In a World where you can be anything be kind" I want my children to know they can be anything they want and they are each unique. I want them all to know that they can be successful in all that they do. They come to school each day ready to work and this year I want them to think outside the box.
I teach in a high poverty school.
Many of my students come from single-parent households and many of them are economically disadvantaged. I want to provide the students with rich learning experiences and with materials that they might not have access to at home. I want to give my students a safe place to let their emotions out with no judgment. I am looking to get my students classroom materials they can use to get creative while learning. I want them to think of learning like an art project and how everyone learns in different ways.
My Project
My school serves students from two Section 8 federally funded housing areas. It is essential that I provide my students with materials that will fully engage them in their learning experience. The paper, crayons, markers, and other supplies will be used to help my students connect with what they are learning. This gives them an outlet to be creative and to prove anything is possible. It will teach them ownership of their own Ideas.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
