Creating World Leaders Without Leaving the Classroom!-ATPE
Help me give my students Science Vocabulary readers and other book sets to help encourage their love of reading and learning through high interest stories!
I am an interventionist for grades 1-5. My students have very diverse needs and struggle with on-level material in the classroom.
Their eagerness to learn and the look of accomplishment on their faces makes me strive to be a better teacher every day!
Books are shared among all grades and it is difficult to obtain new titles for my intervention lessons. My students work hard every day and come to small group ready to learn! The students I teach have difficulty in reading and may not have the supplemental materials at home to help them close the gaps to get them on grade level.
My Project
With leveled readers, my intervention students will have access to a library all their own! My students will use these book sets on a daily basis to bridge their gaps in phonemic awareness, print concepts, accuracy and fluency. The Science Vocabulary book set is high interest and relevant to what they are learning in the classroom. My students will use the Sight Word book set and game to improve their accuracy and application of sight words in their reading.
With these new books, my struggling students will be engaged with high interest stories while closing their gaps in reading and phonemic awareness!
All students should have the opportunity for authentic reading with books that interest them and offer high engagement. These books will help personalize student learning.
