My Students
My students range from 3rd grade through 12th grade. I see my 3rd through 6th graders most frequently. Each of my students are identified as gifted and talented learners.
Through gifted and talented education, my goal is to have the students reach their full potential through critical thinking, creative thinking, research, communication, and affective learning skills.
They strive to learn and grow both academically and emotionally each and everyday. My students love coming to my class to experience a variety of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Math) activities. The STEAM activities interest them because they involve hands on learning and investigation.
My Project
The KEVA planks will allow opportunites for conversation, grow imaginations, inspire creativity, and make memories with classmates. In gifted and talented our goal is to learn to work cooperatively while expanding our creative and critical thinking skills. The KEVA planks allow us to build and create different structures while using our imaginations. We will begin with the design cards to practice different structures and explore how the KEVA planks work. Then we will move into self-exploration to see where their imagination takes their building structure.
The KEVA planks will benefit my students verbal and communications skills by explaining their theory of the structure and design.
The students can work together to communicate how their designs will be successful and how they can be improved.
