Creating With Color

Help me give my students the supplies they need to continue to design, create, print, and display the appropriate signage for our spirit store.

My Students

We are located in the oldest areas of town and about 75% of my students receive free or reduced-price lunches. Our school's homeless and poverty rate is so high we also provide a free breakfast for every student every day. My students are very diverse in their backgrounds, needs, and goals for the future. Our population is 45% Hispanic and about 10% Asian; many of these are not native English speakers. Many of my students are being raised in non-traditional homes. They are being raised by grandparents, other family members, or they are in DHS custody.

With all of their challenges, they come in ready to work every day.

This work ethic makes me strive to be a better teacher for them. I only hope I can inspire them as much as they do me every day.

My Project

This class uses hands on projects and the creative process to design and print attractive signage for our school store. The students apply proper design features to create these items, but they can can not finish these projects unless they are able to print them and display them in the store.

These supplies will help my students learn to apply the use of color in their marketing campaigns.

As the seasons change and the design themes change, my students must continue to create appropriate signage that matches the theme of the season and the overall theme of the store.
