My Students

My students are extremely diverse and of all demographics, including special education. I service approximately 80 fifth grade students who are eager and ready to have ANY sort of interaction with technology. Their world is filled with new things related to technology just waiting to be mastered.

They are the students who come to school with so many ideas but need a way to implement or share them.

Most do not have personal computers at home therefore making it hard for them to understand and visualize ideas/options related to technology. My classroom currently has four outdated desktops that were handed down from a nearby corporation. They do not have the latest and the greatest and at times often do not work. My students deserve the best that I can give them. By sharing this project, I hope to make that happen.

My Project

By acquiring these four Chromebooks, my students will be able to connect to 21st century technology . . . websites, apps, web-based programs, etc. while learning at the same time. I have several students that could really use the assisted technology. The Chromebooks will aid in imputing information for my struggling writers. In addition, they will not be confined by outdated technology when researching articles to use as text-based evidence in their writings. Chromebooks will allow my students access to the latest up-to-date technology and will allow them to research, collaborate on projects, create presentations, improve typing and writing skills, master new apps and utilize the latest web-based programs. By doing this, it will promote increased learning for all students of all abilities in my classroom.

By donating to my project, you can be assured that you are benefiting to the betterment of each of my students.

With your donation, my students will be highly motivated to complete activities that will prepare them for the future. They will be able to see and understand that the world is constantly changing and that there will always be something new and exciting to learn.
