This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Cypress is not just a Southern California suburb, it is a community of educators and families that put children and education first. I have the privilege of teaching an amazing assortment of third graders.

My students come from many ethnicities and diverse households, but one thing they have in common is the need for the warmth and stability of our classroom community.

No matter where they are from or what is happening at home, they continue to surprise and thrill me with what they can do and how excited they are to learn.

My Project

My classroom is a laboratory for tomorrow's leaders. We explore and discover by using technology every day. When students take their own questions and ideas to the Chrome book and start exploring, a real-world connection ignites their passion of knowledge. Technology in the classroom is the key to creativity.

Whether we are exploring phenomena, gathering evidence, or forming opinions, we need current research to make meaningful conclusions.

Having the tools in our classroom to easily access information empowers students. When my students are excited about their research, they want to share and collaborate with other students. Student-driven learning encourages reading, writing, and critical thinking.
