Creating the Things We Wish Existed Through S.T.E.M.
Help me give my students more opportunities for hands-on learning projects. We do several projects where we are using wooden craft sticks, hot glue guns, pipe cleaners, beads, and paint. Help us create from our imagination!

Many students become more interested when they are able to be involved in hands-on learning activities.
A few of my students will remember the things that I teach them after repeating it a few times. However, ALL of my students are able to learn when they are given the opportunity to explore through a hands-on activity. In our classroom, we are always finding ways to create things and explore the possibilities through STEM activities.
Many of the students in my classroom come from low-income households. Like most kids, they just want to feel welcomed and loved. Many of the students in my classroom are hands-on learners. They learn best when they are able to actually build and create things. However, they don't all have access to these materials at home. They are more likely to remember what they are learning, because they are able to see it happening. I am constantly buying materials for our STEM activities. We go through a lot of supplies throughout the year, because I am always looking for new ways to engage them with hands-on learning.
My Project
All of these materials will be used to help my students learn through hands-on S.T.E.M. activities. In my classroom, I am always finding S.T.E.M. projects to engage my students. My students are able to learn more and have a deeper understanding of what is going on, because they are able to see it happening in person. These materials will provide endless opportunities for students. Whether we are creating mini boats to test if they float or sink, creating the tallest tower that is free standing, or creating plant cells out of craft materials, students are able to see firsthand how things work and go together. Students are also able to create their own challenge and explore with the materials. This allows students to create things from their imagination that don't even exist. How cool is that?
