Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This year I’ve been blessed with four different groups of students. My first group consist of a coteach class. This means we have GT students and special education students as well. They work together as a team and try hard in everything they do. In another group, I have students with Autism who come to class smiling and ready to learn. There’s never a dull moment in there. The remaining group is my Pre-AP class. They are sharp and ready for challenges.
My Project
Having access to well written magazines and resources will ensure my students are gaining knowledge and reading practice. I want them to enjoy the words floating by them on the pages and allow them to create a magical moment where they can visualize everything they’re reading. It’s time to captivate our teens with these quality resources. I want them to forget about their games, tablets and cell phones and instead reach for another magazine. Students should know what it feels like to hold these readers in their hands while sitting comfortably in their classroom. In the long run, it’s more about instilling a lifelong love of reading in today’s students.
