Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are writers, readers, historians and scientist. In our classroom we explore many different topics in Social Studies, but are limited on the materials we have for Science. My students are eager to understand the scientific method, force and motion, weather and simple machines.

Due to limited resources I try to provide as much as I can so that they become mini scientist in my classroom.

I am lucky to work with such amazing students that come to school eager to learn despite what goes on in the neighborhood. Our school is a pre-k to 4th grade building that helps prepare students to be college and career ready. We strive to help our students get the best education possible.

My Project

These materials will make a major impact on my students learning. Currently we have very little supplies and materials to use for science in our classroom. The Lego educational set would be the stepping stone to create engineers/scientist in my classroom because they will be able to explore the content in more depth. They will get to create simple machines that they can then test and improve on.

I know that this Lego simple machine educational set will make a difference in my classroom and lead to more students being interested in Engineering and Science.

It is my hope that it sparks more interest in become engineers and scientist when they get older.
