My Students

I would like you to meet my 7th graders. They are intelligent, funny, caring, unfocused, and confused. In other words, they are typical adolescent children. They love being at school even though it's not cool to admit it.

My students daily reinforce my belief that I have the best job in the world.

Helping them make sense of the chaos that is being 12 and 13 is deeply rewarding. They arrive in the fall as children and leave in the spring as young teenagers. The 9 months we spend together often sets the tone for the rest of their academic career.

My Project

Tables and chairs will help my students to create a classroom environment that fosters collaboration and empathy. Currently, we have desks and if we want to work together we have to rearrange them and the students have to literally crawl over each other to get into some of them. As you can imagine in a room full of 7th graders this tends to interrupt any kind of "flow" we have going.

By providing tables and chairs for my 7th graders, you will be contributing to the future of society.

In today's world, people are going to need to be able to collaborate and empathize with each other. With tables and chairs, we intend to create a classroom where collaboration and empathy become a major focus of the curriculum from the first day of school!
