My students are amazing! They are energetic, creative, and passionate ten and eleven-year-olds who bring life to our classroom every day! My students enter our classroom in the morning with smiles on their faces, ready to begin their days.
My students like to be challenged and like to learn in a variety of ways.
We were blessed with the addition of Chromebooks a year ago to make our classroom 1:1 with technology. We are always looking for ways to be innovative with our new technology. The students love working on their Chromebooks, and they especially love working when it doesn't feel like work at all! This group of kids loves playing educational games that make learning fun!
My Project
Sumdog.com is an excellent Mathematics resource for all elementary students. The excitement that fills our classroom when I announce that we are playing Sumdog games is contagious. I truly think they could play Sumdog all day long! The students are very motivated to practice math concepts while playing the Sumdog games. Some of their favorite games to play include: Junk Pile, Disguise, Creeper, and Kiteboarding. Some of these games are no longer accessible to us without a paid subscription.
With a paid subscription, the teacher is able to directly select the skill that each student is working on.
With a paid subscription, teachers are able to set the specific skills that he/she wants his/her students to practice. This is very beneficial to enhancing the skills that we are currently working on. Teachers are also able to track progress to see which skills students have mastered and which ones they need a little more help on. It is also easy to create individual challenges with a paid subscription. This is great for differentiating the level of instruction, as well as reaching each student and helping him/her get to his/her full potential!
