My second grade students come to school ready to learn everyday with a smile on their face. I always try to make my lessons interactive and fun for the students at this age. They are very well behaved and deserve the best supplies and instruction. I would like to make a makerspace in my classroom where students are given time to use their creativity to make and build anything that they want. “Every child has the right to invent, tinker, create, make,and do.”
My Project
I have been giving the students time each day to provide opportunities for the students to make, build, and create anything that they want and they love it! I have requested for play doh, craft supplies, duct tape, and a maker kit to give the students many different materials to use which will encourage them to use their creativity. This gives the students opportunities to take their learning deeper. Our Makerspace will invite all students and will encourage the students to use their creativity. Everything that is made will also be showcased in our room. These materials will be used by the students to facilitate their learning and to make our Makerspace more inviting and fun! Our Makerspace will give the students a choice and allow them to take control of their own learning!
