My students need an art room iPad and stylus to draw, make movies, learn photography, research, and connect with other learners online.
My students are digital natives and should not be told to unplug at school. Instead, let them be wired for learning even in our art room.
My students have limited access to iPads throughout the school year.
I can check a few out when they are available, but with grade levels scattered through out the week, it is very difficult to secure the resources I need for an iPad lesson.
When students do have access, the things we are able to do are truly amazing! I want this kind of access for my students all the time.
I have been working very hard at writing grants, entering contests, and doing fundraisers to obtain enough iPads for my students to give them a 2 children to 1 iPad ratio in the art room year round. All 500 of my students will benefit from receiving this ONE ipad because it will help create this ratio. Working in partners on the iPad will facilitate a collaborative approach to learning and creating art while assuring that each child will have their turn.
Our art program is a traditional art-making program that will only be enhanced as the program grows to embrace digital art creation, photography, stop-motion animation, filmmaking, and art/writing projects.
Students will be able to research, create, and share their work with a global audience through our online digital art gallery with greater independence with access to iPads.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
