The music room is a place where students can escape everyday worries to explore, create, make mistakes and learn.
Students should have all the necessary tools to be successful in learning and how to be a positive respectful person!
I work in a Title I school, meaning that almost all of my students come from diverse and economically disadvantaged homes; however, this does not deter them in any way. They are eager to learn and thankful for the opportunity to be in school.
Worrying about cleanliness, food, money, transportation, and clothing are issues adults may be concerned with; yet, many of my students face these "grown-up" problems each day. In spite of the challenges they face, they constantly rise to the occasion and frequently blow me away with their abilities to learn. My students deserve a chance at doing their best, fostering a love for music and engaging their creativity.
My Project
Help me give my students Hocokiki music coding blocks so that they can become composers through coding their own music. This resource will be available to all of my students no matter their age and for many many more years to come. These magnetic circuits have many different ways for the students to learn and create so the possibilities are endless!
These coding blocks will allow my students to listen to many different instruments, create their own orchestra, and become a DJ to the music they create!
My students learn the best when they are engaged and being creative. Help me get their creative brains working with a cool music coding game.
