My Students

How many times a day do you benefit from some type of technology?

My students come from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds, but most of them have never been out of our state.

I teach 22 third graders who are going places in life! I have students who want to be lawyers, doctors, teachers, and businessmen/women. To do this effectively, they all need to be exposed to technology in some sort. Most have access to it at home, but quite a few do not. So the only exposure they have is at school. Our district has found the resources to give our class 1-1 computer access! In our classroom we utilize technology every day in some fashion.

My Project

My classroom needs an additional Chromebook so everyone can have a computer. My students are completely engaged when using technology, but they benefit more when everyone has their own computer.

If we teach today as we taught yesterday, we rob our children of tomorrow (John Dewey).

We currently have 21 Chromebooks provided by the district, but recently we added a new student. We either have to rely on someone being out sick or another teacher not using theirs in order for everyone to be on a computer at one time. With one more Chromebook, everyone can be on a task at one time.
