Creating Mindfulness In My School Community

I need funding to participate in Breathe For Change - a professional development opportunity which will certify me as a Social Emotional Learning Facilitator and Yoga Teacher designed specifically for educators.

My Project

I've always had a passion for creating big problem solvers within my classroom! When I intentionally started focusing on the social emotional needs of my students, I saw a ripple effect that empowered students in their classroom, their home and their community. Young learners were developing a sense of self, as well as empathy for others, even at the young age of five.

Developing strategies that build positive relationships within themselves and others, transpires into a strength of core values for all.

As I continue in this work of mindfulness, I've learned teaching students to identify HOW they are feeling needs to be extended into the ability to communicate WHAT they are feeling, proceeded by managing those feelings.

Through this professional development training, I will be able to develop and merge three of my passions; wellness, mindfulness and education, allowing me to make a bigger impact in the lives of others and gifting my students with life long strategies.
