Hello! I teach 5th grade mathematics for about 80 students on the coast in Texas. My students are my world which is why I am trying to provide them with some more engaging materials for this next school year. My focus is room transformations.
These special students are resilient, hard working, and understand that education is power.
They recently endured the heart of Hurricane Harvey, the loss of several teachers in the middle of the year, and the Santa Fe school shooting was a little too close to home for us.
I am so proud of their drive to make it to school every day with a smile on their face. Thank you for considering us for your donation!
In my request, one might see a variety of dress up and "toys", but don't let these items fool you, we are doing serious business, such as investigating a mystery on who flipped the fraction (dividing fractions) using the magnifying glasses.
We will also be under construction due to the multiplying fraction menace (the hard hats, vest, and caution tape).
Last, we will finally relax when we set up our restaurant and learn how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide the prices of our food order with our checkered tablecloths. Thanks for helping us get invested in our learning!
