My students are in 3rd-5th grades in a self-contained setting for students with Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities. Students with these disabilities need help with emotional regulation in a small class setting through social skills training to equip them with the skill set needed to mainstream back into a general education classroom.
Sometimes the students who need our love the most ask for it in the most unloving ways, and our classroom changes students' behaviors, thus changing their lives.
My students are at-risk and that requires us to think out of the box to make them successful in the classroom. My students need accommodations and modifications to the traditional learning environment to show their success. I work daily with future doctors, scientists, teachers, construction workers, nurses, pilots, and whatever else their dreams aspire them to be. The future is in my room now, and I am ready to move mountains to help them be who they are meant to be. Thank you for being a part of our journey!
My Project
My students need art supplies and storage to bring the creativity and color back into our day. So much of our day is filled with the standard curriculum that we have been missing the art component. It's time to change that!
Let's get our art on and help my deserving, hardworking students to show their creativity off through art!
My students want sharpeners to help those crayons and colored pencils last longer. The scissors, colored paper, craft sticks, expo clipboards and markers will replace materials and start us off fresh for the new year. My students will be so excited to have art on the go with the portable art desks. Then when it is time to wrap up our memories, the students will bind their artwork with the comb binding machine to take their memories home to cherish.
