Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I can't say enough wonderful things about my students. They are hard-working, creative, kind, and considerate. My class loves reading, writing, math, social studies, STEM, and learning about the world around them! These kids are eager and ready to learn!
We truly have a diverse learning community within our room.
This allows us to learn from one another. We have a very strong classroom community. My students look out for and care about each other. Thank you for your consideration!
My Project
Studies show that reading skills improve when students have books to read at home, especially when they are not at school. I'm requesting books that I can give my students to build their home libraries.
I want my students to continue to build their literacy skills and love for reading, even when they are not at school.
I requested the books through an non-profit organization called First Book. First Book allows me to get current books at a discounted rate. The titles I've requested are book I know my students will love! I plan on creating a book shopping event that let students to browse these books and select which they'd like to have at home. Thank you for your consideration and help in creating lifelong readers!
