My Project

As an English teacher, I am committed to helping each student find at least one book that they enjoy reading. Therefore, I am constantly trying to squeeze as many books as I can onto my classroom library shelves. I always encourage my students to read independently both in class and at home, and my greatest joy is recommending a book to a student that they end up loving and that gets them hooked on reading. In funding this project, you will help me achieve this by providing my classroom with engaging books in a variety of genres.

To become lifelong readers, students need to have access to books they want to read, not just required reading.

Students need to genuinely enjoy their books. In funding this project, you will help me provide books like Girl Code to my STEM-focused nonfiction lovers. Your funding will also help students become avid page-turners with mysteries like The Agathas. I have a group of students who have formed an informal book club and have bonded over their love of the Heartstopper books. Your donation will help me get the last two Heartstopper books in their hands (because they certainly won't stay on my shelves long!).

My passionate and hard-working students deserve having the best books out there. Thank you for helping them to find books they enjoy, to build their reading endurance, and to begin lifelong learning habits.
