My students need organized and well thought-out Tier 3 interventions. We will be writing many of our own assesments and curriculum, and a binding machine would be a necessity for this process.
I teach Fundamentals of Reading and Fundamentals of English Language Arts for sixth through eighth grade students in a rural Missouri school. Over half of our students utilize the free and reduced lunch program.
My students are goal-setters and achievers, and we work towards a strong sense of classroom community.
We celebrate our individual successes and team achievements on a regular basis, and look for ways to encourage each other through difficulties. This year we are learning to love reading, and looking for new challenges and growth!
I am also the teacher support team facilitator. We are launching in the 2018-2019 school year and part of our responsibility is to plan Tier 3 RTI for the entire building. We are in the organizing stage right now!
My Project
As the facilitator of our schools teacher support team, I am in need of materials to organize and implement building-wide intense interventions. We are currently in the process of organizing files and referrals, with the next step being intervention writing.
We will be targeting specific skills and creating our own assessments and curriculum to address the skill gaps.
This will require small organizational materials such as extra highlighters and post-its (which, as teachers in fourth quarter, we are running low on), and larger items, such as a binding machine and file organizer to keep tabs on our data and assessments.
