This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our slogan at our school is Proving the Possible. I am very fortunate to work with amazing kids who are proving what is possible for their future each and every day. Our school has created a system of schools where students develop the knowledge, skills, and character necessary to understand and take action on issues they encounter in everyday life.
By establishing a rigorous, safe, and personalized learning environment, we foster a culture of responsibility and service, empowering all students to become active and engaged citizens as they shape their futures and positively affect their communities.
My Project
This project allows my students to get Scholastic news into their hands. This would allow us to explore "news like" articles each month that we can then expand on through other books and lessons. Scholastic News also gives you access to their online platform when you subscribe which would allow us to access other videos and application type items.
My students would learn so much about current issues that will allow us to have in-depth conversations about what is going on in the world.
The other part of this project allows me to expand my classroom library so that students have access to new and engaging books!
