Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach students from a diverse background in an urban setting in NJ. Many of my students come from families new to our country while others come from a long line of New Jersey natives.

As a school we have strong traditions and values that our students incorporate into their lives both in and out of school.

As an educator I like to share with my students the experiences I have had outside of the school setting including my travels and my previous careers.

My Project

White boards and markers will increase student involvement and in turn add to the number of students who will reach a learning objective. They will give all students a chance to participate, and encourage those that may night like to speak in class.

Utilizing their own dry erase boards students will become more confident, and will be more likely to participate in group discussions.

Students feel more confident writing their answers on white boards and sharing than they do just raising their hands. This will encourage all students to be involved, and take educational risks. This will make for a richer classroom environment for all students.
