Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a title I campus 90% of our students are ELL and Economically Disadvantaged. Our students work hard each year and this past year is no exception! Our campus, as well as our district, was rated an “A” campus! Despite all our deficits our students always manage to work hard and be successful. This year we have managed to identify over 50+ students into our GT program and we have exciting plans for these gifted and talented students. We want our students to learn the benefits of living a healthy and active lifestyle. We would like for them to begin their educational career in being horticulturist. We have a wonderful bunch of students that have the desire to be successful and we will not give up on them and we will help them reach their goals!
My Project
Our students need to understand that hard work pays off! We want them to research what it takes to be a horticulturist, the important role they play in all our lives and how their hard work helps each and every one of us. Students will work on growing their own vegetables and what it takes to put them on our tables. Our hopes is that eventually we can have our students attend and even sell their vegetables at our local farmers market. Eventually, we would like this project turn Into a school wide goal. Having our students turn key their learning to other students and their families.
