My students are a group of 26 kindergarten children from a school in a suburban Michigan city.
We are four and five years old, and we love school! Most of the children in my class have not had the privilege of going to preschool, and nearly all of them receive free lunch.
My Project
My students are young and impressionable. This is why I am writing this project! With the help of FEED USA, I would like to be able to provide my kindergarteners with healthy snacks. I'd also love to have a collection of children's books that relate to health and nutrition.
Many of my students do bring their own snack. However, what they are bringing are cookies, candy, and other unhealthy options. With these resources, my students will be able to distinguish between healthy and unhealthy snacks.
By helping with this project, I will be able to ensure that my students will be eating healthy snacks.
I will be able to use the literature to teach my students why we have to eat healthy foods, and ensure that they have a good foundation to build their lives on.
