My Students

I teach in a structured learning classroom that serves students with significant disabilities. Each of my students has unique learning needs and preferences. My students learn best with hands-on manipulatives. They also benefit from a lot of different sensory activities throughout the school day.

My students are amazing, they work hard each day to learn new skills in a very structured and hands-on learning environment!

My Project

In a normal school year I spend a lot of time and resources creating individualized learning materials for my students math and reading stations in the classroom. Almost everything I make has to be laminated, then cut out, and taped with packing tape, then has Velcro pieces that attach. Creating these materials allow my students to have work at all of their individual levels.

Creating individualized work materials for my students is time consuming and uses a lot of resources because of the pandemic I am going through a lot more laminating sheets, Velcro, and tape to create these learning activities.
